Awe inspiring views greet you from this vacation home ideally located in Port Townsend on the Olympic Peninsula, Washington State USA. The house is near to the bluff and over looks Admiralty inlet and Port Townsend bay. From inside the living room, kitchen and bedrooms there are truly magnificent memorable views of the salt water inlets of Puget Sound, beautiful islands, coves, bays, the historic town, panoramic mountain ranges including the North Cascades and the Olympics. Washington’s Mt. Rainier can be seen welcoming the sunrise on clear days. Most days you can also see eagles, red tail hawks and deer. Click on location to view a map and obtain further information. This uniquely designed house is filled with light hearted charm. There are 2 good sized bedrooms at ground floor level that sleep 6 people comfortably, up to 8 persons if a double sofa bed in the study area of the living room is also used. There is a downstairs bathroom linked to the bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. The large open plan living accommodation is upstairs to enhance the magnificent views. TV, DVD player and wireless internet connection (no computer) are provided. Pets are welcome but there is no smoking allowed. The upper deck is the best place to enjoy the sea air and views. You will be in walking_distance of unique shops half a mile away in the historical district of the town, numerous beaches, a wide range of restaurants / bars, theatres and parks of Port Townsend. The Keystone Ferry, cruise ships, submarines, naval and fishing vessels all travel through Puget Sound. As you watch them from the comfort of the living room and kitchen you may have a feeling of being in a lookout tower and have a job to do keeping track of it all! Sailing Regatta's on Port Townsend Bay are nearly a daily event throughout late spring and summer. Tall Ships frequently visit Port Townsend bay. The Lady Washington which was in the Pirates of the Caribbean fires her cannons at the Washington State Ferry for events such at the Wooden_ Boat_Festival. Port Townsend's courthouse clock tower and partial views of the historical District can be seen from the villa. Buses stop two blocks away and can take you Downtown, Uptown or out to Ft. Worden. Port Townsend is on the north east edge of the Olympic National Park which boasts the Hoh temperate rain forest on the west coast. You can drive in 90 minutes from the vacation home to the top of Hurricane Ridge which at 7000 feet has great views of Canada, Seattle, the Pacific Ocean and the San Juan Islands. You can also take a whale tour from Port Townsend boat haven about one mile away. After the whale tour the boat takes you to Friday Harbour on the San Juan Islands for lunch.
